Felony arrests

Sex Offender Registration — Jose Antonio Steiner, 35, no known address. Medford police arrested Steiner Thursday on a felony charge of failing to register his address as a sex offender and for violating his parole on a prior failure to register as a sex offender conviction. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail Thursday without bail.

Theft — Julia Marie Free, 19, of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Medford. On Thursday, Free made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on felony charges of first-degree theft and misdemeanor counts of second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Theft — Michaela Brown Pardee, 21, of Mt. Shasta, California. On Thursday, Pardee made her initial court appearance on a felony charge of first-degree theft and a misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Travis James Christy, 33, no known address. Medford police arrested Christy Thursday on a felony charge of possessing heroin, a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft and for violating terms of an attempted burglary sentence. He was lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Kevan Walter Sadecki, 25, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Sadecki Thursday on a felony charge of possessing heroin and for violating his probation on a prior third-degree assault conviction. He remained lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Crime reports

Theft — 200 block of Stewart Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday. A laser level valued at $630 was reported stolen.

Theft — North Fir Street & West Third Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen Trimble S8 surveying device with tripod at 9:34 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $50,000.

Theft — 300 block of West Second Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a handgun stolen from a motor vehicle at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $260.

Theft — First block of East South Stage Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 5:48 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a black wildland firefighting backpack and an emergency firefighting shelter. The loss was valued at $800.

Theft — 1200 block of South Oakdale Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 7:57 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a portable TV and digital video recorder, a Harry and David gift basket, leather driving gloves, a projector, 48 DVD movies and an automotive portable DVD player with two screens. The loss was valued at $1,360.
