AARP Oregon will host the sixth annual Vital Aging in Southern Oregon conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Smullin Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford.
Nationally recognized keynote speaker Rob Winningham will speak on "Train Your Brain." He is a neuroscientist, educator, researcher and author and has more than 20 years of research working on applied memory issues. In addition, keynote speaker Dr. Joanne Warner will speak on the topic "The Pivotal Power" of storytelling. Warner is an advocate and health policy expert, nurse, and educator.
Breakout sessions throughout the day will include topics such as financial security, fitness after 50, fun things to do in the valley, navigating aging resources and more.
Lunch and refreshments are included. Admission is free, however participants are encouraged to bring two cans of food to give to local food banks.
