Jackson County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue teams are looking for a missing man who hasn't returned since going mushroom hunting Sunday.

Christopher Knapp reportedly went mushroom picking somewhere in the areas of Prospect, Highway 227 or Tiller in Douglas County, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

He was reported missing today.

Knapp, 45, is described as 6-feet-4, with a thin build and dark "salt and pepper" hair. He usually is clean shaven and wears bib overalls or black ski pants, and a ball cap or a beanie.

Knapp drives a green 2-door Honda Civic with a missing front bumper. He usually stays on the coast in the Florence area, but he has been in the Prospect area for a few months to pick mushrooms and huckleberries, the release said

Anyone with information about Knapp's whereabouts is asked to call SAR Sgt. Shawn Richards at 541-774-6800.
