Main Street in Medford is a two-way until it gets to Bear Creek, and then it becomes a one-way. Is there any possibility that, in the near future, it will become a two-way all the way? I think Medford could use it better that way.
— Curt K., Medford
It's not happening, Curt. There are no two ways about it.
That portion of West Main Street you're talking about, which runs from about Almond Street, south of Hawthorne Park, to North Columbus Avenue is going to stay as a one-way.
The folks at the city of Medford said the idea has been brought up in the past, but they've not seen a reason to make the change, according to Karl MacNair, who works as the transportation manager for Medford Public Works.
"It has been talked about over the years in some downtown redevelopment studies, but nothing has been officially adopted by the city that calls for that change," MacNair told us in an email.
We guess no one at Public Works got the memo that one is the loneliest number.
