AGE: I'm Lenny, a happy-go-lucky guy who loves to romp and play. Although I'm 4 years old, I still act like a silly puppy.

PERSONALITY: I love to play with toys, learn tricks for treats, and will try to climb in your lap for cuddles. I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner was homeless, and I was too strong for her to handle. I was later adopted by a great family who I bonded with quickly and became very protective of them. They had a lot of visitors, and I have a hard time distinguishing between intruders and friends. Therefore, I should do better in a low foot traffic home with an experienced owner that understands my protective nature.

HIGHLIGHTS: I got along well with the children (6 years-plus) in the home, loved playing with their dog, and even got along with the cat until he started attacking me. I am smart, eager to please, and very food motivated. I already know some basic commands and am happy to learn more. I am house-trained and enjoy going for car rides.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., between Talent and Phoenix, open 7 days a week.

COST: Lenny's adoption fee is $105. Adoption includes a free one-hour, in-home training and a wellness visit at a local veterinarian office. Lenny is neutered.
