Elude — Steven Gale Trapp, 51, of the 7300 block of Pine Ridge Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Trapp Tuesday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, driving while suspended and attempting to elude police on foot and on a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior third-degree theft charge. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday and released Wednesday on his own recognizance.
Burglary — Rylee Nicole Harding, 18, of the 5400 block of Sterling Creek Road, Jacksonville. Ashland police arrested Harding Tuesday on a felony charge of first-degree burglary and on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment. She was booked in the jail Tuesday and released Wednesday because of overcrowding.
Drugs — Richard Eric Zimmerman, 39, no known address. Medford police arrested Zimmerman Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and on an out-of-county warrant for violating his parole on a prior meth-possession conviction. He was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on his own recognizance.
Theft — Gideon Christopher Rayburn, 37, of the 400 block of South Columbus Avenue, Medford. On Wednesday, Rayburn made his initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of first-degree theft and misdemeanor counts of first-degree trespassing and second-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on his own recognizance.
Assaulting an Officer — William Walter Wiest Jr., 23, no known address. Medford police arrested Wiest Wednesday on a felony charge of assaulting a police officer, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on prior charges of fourth-degree assault, harassment and interfering with someone making a police report, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior second-degree burglary conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.
Weapons — John Brandon Shawnego, 39, of the 18300 block of Highway 62, Eagle Point. Oregon State Police troopers arrested Shawnego Wednesday on a felony charge of felon in possession of a restricted weapon, on misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed firearm, committing a wildlife offense, aiding another committing a wildlife offense and having no game licenses or tags. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $27,500 bail.
Assaulting an Officer — Victor Martin Vargas, 21, of the 15400 block of Butte Falls Highway, Eagle Point. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Vargas Wednesday on felony charges of assaulting an officer, attempting to elude police in a vehicle and possessing heroin, misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, resisting arrest and recklessly endangering a highway worker, and for violating his probation on prior heroin-possession and heroin-delivery convictions. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $85,000 bail.
Drugs — Daniel Adam Ramirez, 31, no known address. The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force arrested Ramirez Wednesday on felony charges of delivering, manufacturing and possessing cocaine. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $82,500 bail.
