A Medford man is facing a felony charge after allegedly selling a stolen cellphone to the phone's owner.
Daniel Keith Waggoner, 24, of the 100 block of Fern Valley Road was scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of first-degree theft Thursday in Jackson County Circuit Court, but failed to appear. A warrant was issued for his arrest, according to court records.
He is accused of buying or selling property that he knew was stolen, according to an indictment.
On Sept. 23, Waggoner allegedly bought a stolen cellphone from a friend, according to a probable cause affidavit by Medford police.
"He then attempted to sell the phone," the affidavit alleges. "The victim was able to contact the suspect and obtain a time to meet. The victim then paid $25 to get his own phone back from the suspect."
