Felony arrests

Mail Theft — Daniel Richard Slocum, 19, of the 600 block of Benson Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Slocum Tuesday on three felony counts of mail theft and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior second-degree robbery conviction. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday without bail.

Drugs — Cody Bernard Markell, 26, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Markell Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin, a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended, and for violating his probation on prior heroin-delivery, heroin-possession and supplying contraband convictions. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.

Marijuana — Brian William Jones, 35, of the 1800 block of Anderson Creek Road, Talent. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Jones Wednesday on felony charges of manufacturing and possessing marijuana. He was booked in the jail and released Wednesday after posting bail.

Drugs — Aida Iveliz Caraballo, 34, of the 6200 block of Rogue River Highway, Grants Pass. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Caraballo Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. She was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on her own recognizance.

Assault — John Edward Hagge, 49, of Dunsmuir, California. Central Point police and Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Hagge Wednesday on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor charge of strangulation and on a California fugitive warrant. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.

Drugs — Johnny Manuel Ortega, 44, no known address. Medford police arrested Ortega Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $7,500 bail.

Drugs — Shannon Lynn Holland, 43, of the first block of Elm Street, Medford. On Wednesday, Holland made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Wednesday on her own recognizance.

Kidnapping — Lawrence Carl Hunsley, 57, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Hunsley Wednesday on felony warrants charging him with second-degree kidnapping and coercion, misdemeanor warrants for fourth-degree assault and harassment and on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on prior charges of fourth-degree assault, menacing and harassment. He was lodged in jail Wednesday on $27,500 bail.

Crime reports

Vandalism — First block of Stewart Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business in which a metal gate was vandalized at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday. The damage was valued at $1,000.

Burglary — 700 block of Mindy Sue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a Sony PlayStation 4 and a first-generation Apple iPad. The loss was valued at $300.

Theft — First block of West Jackson Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included various engine and vehicle parts. The loss was valued at $2,000.

Theft — 800 block of East 10th Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen bamboo water feature at 7:29 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $175.

Theft — 1800 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen Nike sportswear and a stolen Michael Kors jacket at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $1,020.
