A Washington man is behind bars and a man and woman known to frequent the Cave Junction area are wanted for allegedly murdering a man outside Selma last summer.
Elizabeth Devine Hudson, 22, also known by the nickname "Little Red," and Damian Lee Atwood, known to some as "Bubba J," are wanted in the death of 22-year-old John William Reitterer of Crescent City, California, according to a release issued Friday by Oregon State Police.
Ryan Michael Eldred, 22, with a listed address in Coupeville, Washington, made his initial appearance in Josephine County Circuit Court on a single murder charge last week, records show.
Reitterer was found dead in a shallow creek at the Snail Back Beach Trail near the Illinois River, according to previous news reports. No details have yet been released by OSP or prosecutors as to how Reitterer died, other than that it was a homicide. An indictment filed in Edred's case names eight witnesses, including Deputy State Medical Examiner James Olson.
Eldred was originally lodged in the Josephine County Jail on methamphetamine-possession charges, and was formally charged with murder Dec. 19, court records show. He remains in jail without bail, and his next court appearance is currently set for February.
Eldred has other pending cases in Josephine County, including a July case of attempt to elude police in a vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle, September charges of delivering and possessing methamphetamine and the November meth-possession charges.
Atwood previously pleaded guilty to a Josephine County count of second-degree burglary in August, records show. A probation-violation warrant was issued for his arrest in early November.
Hudson has a pending Jackson County case charging her with unauthorized use of a vehicle and interfering with a police officer following a Medford arrest Sept. 7. In Josephine County, she faces felony counts of first-degree theft and identity theft in one case and unauthorized use of a vehicle and attempting to elude police in a vehicle in another.
Anyone with information as to Atwood or Hudson's whereabouts is asked to call Oregon State Police dispatchers at 541-664-4600.
