An investigation into a disorderly conduct complaint Tuesday night ended with a Butte Falls man in jail on weapons charges. Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Cody Ross Cruse, 37, on three counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon.
At 6:39 p.m., a resident in the 1400 block of Obenchain Road called to report a disorderly male confronting residents. Deputies arrived to find Cruse still in the area. According to the Sheriff's Office, Cruse had previously been issued a restraining order and a stalking order, and is prohibited from possessing certain weapons because of a prior felony conviction.
After learning that Cruse had a firearm in his vehicle, deputies located a rifle, a shotgun, ammunition and a blackjack. Cruse was arrested and lodged in jail; additional charges may be filed.
