Four local organizations are teaming up to minimize students' summer “Learning Lag” with the third annual “Let’s Read” program and book drive.
The program, sponsored by Jackson Elementary School, Southern Oregon Early Learning Hub, Rogue Credit Union and Lithia 4Kids, encourages families, friends and community volunteers to read to and with youngsters, enabling them to develop skills for school and life.
As part of the program, Medford Lithia Auto Stores and Rogue Credit Union Rogue Valley branches are hosting a book drive, collecting new and gently used books to distribute to young readers and their families. In 2017, more than 150 books were distributed to local children. This year, the collection of donated books will be distributed to youngsters at the 65th annual Pear Blossom Parade.
