There is a slight chance of rain during the Pear Blossom Parade and Festival on Saturday, but local forecasters say it will likely be a pleasant day overall.

Rain is expected to fall on Medford Wednesday, with showers likely on Thursday and a slight chance for additional rain Friday, according to the National Weather Service. That additional Friday rain could linger into Saturday morning, but would probably be in the form of a slight drizzle, meteorologist Charles Smith said. A high of 67 degrees is forecast.

“Out of all the days, Saturday is looking like the best,” Smith said of the weekend. “Sunday’s definitely the one day I’d be more concerned for rain.”

Saturday’s Pear Blossom festivities include the Pear Blossom 5K, 10-mile and fun run races, which are set for 7 a.m., 7:50 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., respectively; the Pedals ‘N Pears biking event, which starts at 9 a.m.; the Pear Blossom Parade through downtown Medford, which kicks off at 11 a.m.; and the Pear Blossom Street Fair, which runs 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Commons Park Blocks.
