June 3, 1951 - February 4, 2017

William “Bill” Joseph Thompson, 65, passed away peacefully February 4, 2017 with his wife, Mary; his daughters, Windy and Michelle; and his sons-in-law, Ruben and Scott at his side. Bill was born June 3, 1951 to David and Evelyn Thompson in Sacramento, California.

Bill graduated from Sacramento High School in 1969 and moved to Central Point, Oregon in 1987. Bill and Mary were wed December 12, 1992 in Reno, Nevada. He worked for many years as a machinist and machine operator for several Rogue Valley companies until his retirement in 2000. Bill loved the outdoors. He was an avid waterfowl hunter and fisherman. He was also a natural conversationalist, making friends wherever he went.

Bill will be sorely missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Bernadette Thompson, Sacramento, Calif., Windy Aceves, Sacramento, Calif., Michelle Wickham, Medford, Ore., and Natalie Thompson, Sacramento, Calif.; brothers, David Thompson, San Diego, Calif. and Tiernan Thompson, Phoenix, Arizona; and his seven grandchildren, whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents and grand-parents.
