November 13, 1930 - March 4, 2017

James C. LaVia, 86, passed away March 4, 2017, at a local hospital. 

Born November 13, 1930 in Clovis, California to parents, Anna M. Miller and Peter C. Lavia.  James was a high school graduate who married Marcia Ann LaVia (Vincent) May 1, 1952 in San Diego, Calif.  He was also a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp.  

James was an amusement game owner/operator.  His hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling, and auto racing. He was a member of the the Elks, Moose, Lions, and Oregon Amusement Operators Association.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marcia; son, James Duane and wife Jenny; daughter, Karla Ann LaVia; and numerous cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sharon Marie LaVia.  

A memorial will be held March 18, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Conger Morris Chapel, Central Point, Ore.  Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Gardens.   

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to local food banks or a favorite charity.
