March 4, 1921 - March 22, 2017

Garnet (McCoy) Bigger was born March 4, 1921, in Yakima, Washington and passed away March 22, 2017, while vacationing with her son in Kellogg, Idaho.

While attending Columbia Adventist Academy in Meadow Glade, Washington, Garnet met the love of her life, Forrest (Forry) Bigger and they were married November 19, 1942. After Forrest was discharged from the U.S. Army, they moved to Prospect, Oregon where he began working for Gene Burrill in the lumber business and eventually became the mill manager.

With her children all in school, Garnet went to work for the Oregon State Employment Office, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved to travel and collect recipes. A dream come true was a vacation five years ago to her ancestors’ roots in Ireland and Scotland. She made her home in Walla Walla, Washington for the past 19 years and lived with her son and daughter-in-law after Forry died in 2005.

Garnet is survived by her children, Darold (Barbara) Bigger of Walla Walla; Carolyn (Larry) Evans of Laurel, Maryland; Rick (Marty) Bigger of Saginaw, Mich.; Sandra (Rick) Carlson of Longview, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a foster granddaughter; her three children; a sister-in-law; plus many nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Forrest; three siblings; and a granddaughter.
