August 9, 1924 - April 16, 2017

Barbara was born in Roseburg, Oregon, the only child of E.G. (Bill) Randolph and Mabel G. Randolph. She grew up spending summers at the family cabin in Winchester, Ore. She graduated from Medford Senior High School in 1942. She attended University of Oregon for two years. During the war she worked for Ken Bailey Insurance in Medford.

She married Norman Svensen August 29, 1947. They made their home in Medford where Barbara was a stay at home mom. She was very involved in Masonic work at local and state levels. Her affiliations included Eastern Star, Amaranth, Daughters of the Nile, and she was also involved with Job’s Daughters and DeMolay.

When her children got into college, she worked for Reter Fruit Company doing payroll. When Norm retired they began traveling. They went to Norway, Australia, many trips across the United States and did the Alcan Highway to Alaska. They were married 63 years until his death in July 2011. Barbara moved to Albany in 2016 to be closer to family.

She is survived by three children, Karen (Brad), Marsha (Mike), and Ken (Gloria); three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; Norm’s extended family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
