November 26, 1931 - April 22, 2017

Ana I. Hartenau Delfosse passed away April 22, 2017 in the company of her sister and brother-in-law, Hella and Alfred Czerner, at Scripps Hospital in San Diego County.

Ana was born November 26, 1931 in Chile. She grew up on a remote, self-sufficient sheep ranch in Patagonia, the eldest of seven siblings. These experiences contributed to her becoming the strong, independent woman she was. As a young woman she was a pioneer race car driver and mechanic.

Ana and her husband, Curt moved to Ashland in 1987, where she was well known for operating the 76 gas station on the south end of town.

Ana was deeply drawn to animals and nature. Throughout her years she never stopped seeking ways to heal herself, her community, and the world around her. Ana's caring relationships webbed her deeply into the hearts of her family and her community. We will greatly miss her.

Ana is survived by her sister, two brothers, six nephews, and four grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curt.

A memorial service will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Green Springs Inn, 11470 Hwy. 66, Ashland, Oregon, approximately 30 minutes from Ashland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SanctuaryOne.org which rescues farm animals and house pets or wwww.savethechildren.org. For additional information call 541-621-0449.
