December 28, 1956 - May 29, 2017

Charles Dean "Dobey" Elliott, 60, passed away May 29, 2017 in Morehead, Kentucky. He was born in Lakeview, Ore, December. 28, 1956, to Alvas Charles "Cook" Elliott (d. 1994) and Rada Ann (Forga) Jackson. He was a 1975 graduate of Lakeview High School.

While living in Lakeview, Dobey worked many jobs in Lake County. He sold hand-tied flies at Herman’s Grocery, drove combines out in Plush, delivered Pepsi, and was a driller when working on the Superfund program. He worked for Oregon State Forestry and for Lakeview Creamery.  He moved to Ashland in 1978 and began his career in facilities maintenance and management with Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was promoted to chief engineer and worked at what is now known as the now Rogue Regional Medical Center for over 25 years. In 2004, he accepted a position as Operations Manager with the General Service Administration managing Federal buildings in the Pacific Northwest, and he was Building Maintenance Supervisor with the City of Medford before moving to Kentucky in 2013.

Dobey loved his children most of all. He was in his element in the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and snowmobile with his children and family. He made many trips to Lakeview, Dairy Creek, Lofton, and to the Steens Mountains to hunt and fish.

He was not only a loving and caring family man, nothing was beyond his reach to help others out when it came to any type of creative hands on projects.

Dobey lived up to the title, "Jack of all trades.” There wasn't anything he couldn't do, from electrical work to plumbing to whatever needed to be done.

Dobey is survived by his beloved significant other, Leigh Ann Moore; his children, Kenneth Charles Elliott (Nicole); his daughter Cassandra Jo Brainerd (Steven); and his grandchildren, Madison Leeann and Kayla Josephine. He is also survived by his mother, Rada Ann (Forga) Jackson; brother, Larry Joe Elliott (Tina); his sister, Susan Kay Collins; and his children's mother, Teresa Karen Elliott.
