John Thomas Baker, passed away May 31, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born November 3, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio to Norbert Dale and Helen King Baker.
John grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Miami University of Ohio. Following graduation, he joined the US Army and served his country honorably in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant with the First Air Cavalry. He had a distinguished banking career on the east and west coasts and earned a degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Stonier School of Finance.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Diane Baker of Medford; his daughter, Jordan Baker (Barry Hartney) of Southern Pines, N.C., and step-daughter, Natalie Escobedo (Braulio) of Medford. He was blessed with four grandchildren; Daisy Baker Hartney, and Liliana, Diego and Briella Escobedo. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Baker Frickert (Steve Booth) of Midlothian, Virginia, along with nieces and nephews.
His friends and family knew he loved deeply, worked hard and played hard. He loved golf and enjoyed playing with all his friends he considered, "good guys."
Interment will be June 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Millville Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio. Donations in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
