February 7, 1943 - September 7, 2017
Clifton Darrel Chapman passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017. Cliff was born February 7, 1943 in Medford, Oregon to Vic and Velma Chapman. He was proud to say “I’ve lived in Prospect my whole life, all 74 years.”
Cliff graduated from high school in 1961. After graduation, he worked for the family logging company and did every job in the woods. In 1965, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara, and began their life of 52 devoted years together.
In 1985 he started his own logging company. Cliff’s fondest memories are of being in the woods early every morning, enjoying a cup of coffee, and reflecting on the beauty and peacefulness of the woods. He enjoyed hunting with family and friends, picking huckleberries, and cutting firewood. A real joy for him was watching his grandchildren grow and surrounding them with love and support.
Cliff will be missed beyond words by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara; their daughters, Pamela and Karen (John); granddaughters, Brittany (Nat), Emily, and Jessica (Sam and son, Ian); grandsons, Cameron, John, and Adam; and was excited to welcome a new great-grandchild in October.
A memorial service will be held at the Prospect Nazarene Church Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. If you would like to share a favorite memory or picture, cards will be available to place in the memory book.
