October 30, 1948 - September 23, 2017

Margery (Peggy) Kay Reed passed away September 23, 2017. She was born October 30, 1948 in White Sulfur Springs, Montana to Gilbert and Jennie Laumeyer.

Peggy married Allen Sawyers in Blue Lake, California June 5, 1964. Together they had two daughters, Kim and Shelly. They later divorced. She then married Burl Reed September 5, 2009 in Douglas County, Nevada.

Peggy spent the first half of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom, which she always considered a privilege. She then went on to graduate from Trend Business College and worked for Rogue Valley Urology until her retirement. She adored her grandkids and particularly her great-grandkids. She spent many hours each week caring for them. She never quit talking about them. She was active in her church, New Beginnings Church and taught Sunday school to the younger kids. She enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Burl Reed; daughters, Kim Skomerza and Shelly Gutzman; grandchildren, Jason Dunbar, Tera Dunbar, Krystle Phelan, and Paul Gutzman; sisters, Cindy Brooks and Diane Hyde; brothers, Donovan Laumeyer, Barney Kane, and Brad Kane; five great-granchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Laumeyer and Jennie Kane; step-father, Don Kane; and brother, Greg Kane.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at New Beginnings Church, 5889 Hwy. 62, Central Point, OR. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Beginnings Church building fund in memory of Peggy.
