April 6, 1939 - October 5, 2017

Gwendolyn G. Palmerton, 78, of Klamath Falls, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 5, 2017 at home. She was born Gwendolyn Gloria Krouse April 6, 1939, daughter of Eugene and Josephine Krouse, in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Gwen attended Grants Pass High school. During her high school years, she was active in many sports, glee club, and was a lifeguard. She was very active in 4-H with dairy, beef, sheep, sewing, and cooking projects. She met her husband, Ronald Palmerton, while living in her hometown of Applegate, where the two were later married. She worked in the medical field for many years, Harry & David, and then at 3M until her retirement.

Gwen was an active member of AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) and the YMCA where she enjoyed her weekly swims. She had been a member of the Cascade Team Penning Association, had been a 4-H leader, and she enjoyed volunteering at the local senior center. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and reading, but her greatest love was horseback riding.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Annette), Eagle Point and Curtis, Bend; one daughter, Krisa Spiesschaert (Leon), Bonanza; a sister, Elizabeth Twedell (David), Lamar, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Palmerton; her brother; and a nephew.

The celebration of life for Gwen will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 15, at the Mace Watchable Wildlife Center (Jackson County Expo). Private inurnment will be at Missouri Flat Cemetery. The Wounded Warrior Project was important to Gwen. In lieu of flowers please donate to this wonderful charity.
