January 4, 1925 - October 18, 2017

It is with sadness that the family and friends of Colleen “Pokie” Hall, 92, announce her passing October 18, 2017 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington. She passed peacefully and somewhat unexpectedly with her family by her side. She may be gone from this earthly place, but her spirit will live on in Heaven and in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.

Born January 4, 1925 to Heck and Maggie Thomas in Ardmore, Oklahoma, she was the youngest of three girls. Following the death of her father, Pokie (short for Pocahontas) moved from Oklahoma with her mother and sister Imogene to join her eldest sister Nadine in Hollywood, California where she graduated from Hollywood High School. She married Charles Hall, June 19, 1945. They worked on a magazine crew that toured the U.S. selling magazines until they settled in Los Angeles where Charles attended college and received his chiropractic license. From Los Angeles, they moved to Bakersfield, Calif. and on to Happy Camp in 1950 where Charles “Doc” opened a chiropractic office. They built and operated Hall's Mercantile, a general mercantile store; Pokie was instrumental in running the business. She was loved by everyone who met her. They resided in Happy Camp for 42 years until 1992 when they moved to Medford, Oregon.

Pokie enjoyed singing, art, shopping, traveling, dancing, fishing, and decorating. She loved the big band era and all the glitz and glitter. She truly remains a sparkling star and will be remembered for her laughter, great sense of humor, and the stories she shared of her long and adventurous life.

Pokie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Doc” Hall and her sisters, Nadine Smith and Imogene Bach. She leaves behind her daughters, Pamela Huddleston, of Bremerton, Wash. and Denise Morgan, of Jacksonville, Ore.; four grandchildren, Renee Devine and Thomas Huddleston, of Bremerton, Wash.; Kimberly Dewey of Eatonville, Wash.; and Mackenzie Morgan of Jacksonville, Ore; along with three great-grandchildren, Finn and Kai Devine and Kayden Dewey, in addition to her nephew, nieces, and extended family.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Twin Creeks Retirement Community, 888 Twin Creeks Crossing, Central Point, OR. A graveside service will be held in Happy Camp, Calif. at the Happy Camp Cemetery Saturday, November 11, 2017 at noon, where her ashes will be laid to rest beside her mother. A light luncheon will follow at the Happy Camp Grange. The public is invited to attend one or both of the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the organization of your choice.

She is in our hearts until we see her again.
