September 12, 1924 - October 29, 2017

Peter Van Dyke passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home in Medford, Oregon. He was 93. Pete was born September 12, 1924 in La Grange, Illinois to Greswald and Helene Boughter Van Dyke. He was the youngest of three children.

He attended Amherst College prior to enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1944. He earned his pilot wings and was commissioned as a second Lieutenant. He married LaRue Butler in Denver, Colorado. They settled in Portland, Ore. where they raised their family.

Peter's career in retail and property management ended with the Hayden Island Corp. as a Vice President. Upon retirement he and LaRue enjoyed years of international travel. After LaRue passed away he moved to Medford, Ore.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue and a son, Michael. He is survived by sons, Gary (Jeanne), Florence, Ore. and Jeff (Marcia), Cuenca, Ecuador; daughters, Victoria Facciuto (Dave) Medford, Ore. and Valerie Lupton (Mark), St Helens, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to Alzheimer's Association of Oregon.
