Ronald McAvin passed away October 31, 2017 surrounded by his family. Ron was born in White City, Oregon at Camp White. He grew up in Central Point, Ore. and graduated from Crater High School.

Ron was involved with the Medford Elks Lodge and spent time as their Exalted Ruler. In 1993 he moved to the Grand Canyon and later became a tour bus driver. He loved the open road and loved seeing the places he drove tours to. He made many friends during his time as a driver, and cherished them greatly. After retirement he took a part-time job working for First Student as a bus monitor. He loved the drivers he worked with and enjoyed the kids.

Survivors include his daughters, Shannon McAvin of Medford, Ore. and Candi Piper of Veneta, Ore.; son-in-law, Rob Piper of Veneta, Ore.; grandson, Tommy Webb of Medford, Ore.; granddaughter, Hailey Duran and her husband, Hunter Duran of Central Point, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Addisyn Duran, Logan Duran, and Gavin Duran of Central Point, Ore.; extended family, Justin, Cortnie and Riley Peeler of Veneta, Ore. and Sherrie Brewer of Medford, Ore.

A celebration of life for Ron McAvin will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Conger-Morris, 800 S. Front St. Central Point, OR. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude or Shriners Hospital for Children may be made in Ron's name. He will be forever in our hearts.
