Gary Gene Asher, 73, of Central Point, Oregon passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 of heart failure. Gary’s parents were Mary Kathryn Sossaman and George Lee Asher. Gary served in the Army from 1967 to 1970. His great knowledge and love of fast cars led him to owning eight Corvettes and multiple other makes and models of fast, powerful cars. He joined Rogue Valley Corvettes and was a very active member until this last year due to health challenges. Gary married Naomi Jean Walker in 2011 and spent the last seven years enjoying life and cruising in his ’98 Corvette. At the age of 55, Gary returned to college and obtained a degree in automotive computers. Gary is survived by his siblings, Leroy Asher, Betty Hicks, June Neal, Larry Asher, Elaine Johnson, and Jerry Asher; his children, Shelly Luchterhand, Shane Asher, Tauri Oliver, and Devon Asher; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Celebration of Gary’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9 at the Butte Crest Park Clubhouse, 633 E. Archwood Dr., Eagle Point, OR.
