Raymond Burdell (R.B.) Browns, 91, of Central Point, Oregon, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at home. He was born December 24, 1926 in Ada, Oklahoma to Raymond and Minnie Browns.
R.B. and his parents moved to the Jerome Prairie, Ore. area in 1936. On February 28, 1947 R.B married Virginia (Ginnie) Dame in Grants Pass. Ore. In 1952 they moved to the Medford area.
R.B. started R.B. Browns Trucking in 1952. He was active in the business until December 2016. He and Ginnie enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending winters in Palm Desert, California.
R.B. is survived by his children, Vickie Brookins (Gary) of Eagle Point, Kathie Woods (Harvey) of Medford, and Jeff Browns (Cyndi) of Central Point; seven grandchildren; 11-¾ great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginnie and son, Bruce Browns.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in R.B.’s name would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1650 NW Naito Parkway, Suite 190, Portland, OR 97209 or National Kidney Association, 30 East 33rd St, New York, NY, 10016.
There will be a short two-hour viewing from 2-4 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 for people to pay their last respects at 1395 Arnold Ln., Medford, OR 97501. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. It will be held during the spring when the weather is better, so he can be surrounded by his friends and his trucks.
