Lou Ellen McBride, 87, passed away January 31, 2018 at Hearthstone, Medford. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Eleanor and Lawrence Tall. She grew up with her sister, Sally in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Lou was fondly known in Jacksonville, and along with her devoted friend, Donna McNurlen, was active in the Jacksonville Garden Club. Both were known for their arts-and-crafts business, "The Two Macs". Their historic home was featured several times on the semi-annual Boosters Home and Garden Tour.
For more than 30 years, the janitorial partnership of "The Two Macs" was employed by the City of Jacksonville; Brodie Dental, Jacksonville; Fowler and McNair, Attorneys, Medford; and several others.
Lou, an excellent horsewoman, loved all thing Western, the work of Dogs for the Deaf, and retained a passion for gardening all her life.
Recognized always for her engaging conversation, honesty, and integrity Lou will be sorely missed by her friends in the Jacksonville community, the Bear Lake Mobile Estates, and Barnett Wood Retirement Living.
Survivors include her sister, Sally Kersting (Donald Kersting Sr.) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; niece Shelley Shilvock of Corrales, N.M.; nephews, Donald Jr. Boerne (Mary Lou) of Texas; Todd Milford (Katie) of Pennsylvania; and great-nephews.
A celebration of life was held January 27, 2018 at Barnett Woods Retirement Living for both Lou Ellen and her devoted friend, Donna McNurlen, who passed away January 2, 2018.
