March 8, 1943 - March 7, 2018
William Daniel Lomasney (Bill/Willie), born March 8, 1943 in Newport, Rhode Island, passed away March 7, 2018 at his home in Medford, Oregon surrounded by family and friends.
Bill grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois. After serving as a medic in the army he helped to open a scuba shop where he met his wife of 40 years. After the couple married, they moved to northern Wisconsin for 13 long winters (as he would say) where they started their family. They moved to Medford, Ore. in 1989.
Bill enjoyed many activities including playing softball and riding motorcycles, but none more notable than his love of boats and the water. He also enjoyed volunteering for many years at Britt Festivals and was an avid animal lover, a gift he passed on to his girls.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Rean B. Lomasney. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Kik) Lomasney; and his two daughters, Danya Ward and her husband, Adam and Erin Williams and her husband, Josh.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Providence Hospice who made it possible for Bill to be home during his final days.
An open house will be held at his home Sunday, March 10. For more details, please contact 541-773-3764.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southern Oregon Humane Society to support animals in need of a loving home.
