Judy A. Wadleigh, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her home in Central Point. She was born December 16, 1948 in Crookston, Minnesota to Louis and G. June (Benbo) Helgeson.
In 1966, Judy graduated from Radford High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1969, she married Thomas F. Baird III with whom she had two daughters, Marie and Christine, and settled in Chula Vista, California. Later, she married Stephen W. Wadleigh who was her husband of 31 years at the time of her death. Together, they enjoyed spending time as members of the Rogue Valley Wings of Southern Oregon chapter of the Gold Wing Touring Association, as well as the Medford Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America.
Judy took great joy in spending time with her family and friends, painting, gardening, sewing, collecting antiques, and cooking for her loved ones. She was known for her homemade lemon meringue pie, potato salad, and deviled eggs.
Left to honor Judy and remember her love are her husband, Stephen; daughters, Marie (Scott) Spalding and Christine (Sal) Melendez; sister, Janet (Dan) Stephens; brothers, Ronald Helgeson and Larry (Linda) Helgeson; grandsons, Michael Spalding, Aiden Melendez, and Sebastian Melendez; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Judy’s memory to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
