The Rogue Community College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 game to Clark College Wednesday in Northwest Athletic Conference play in Vancouver, Washington.
Wednesday afternoon in Vancouver. The defense of the Ospreys (4-6-1, 4-4-1 NWAC) kept Clark (13-2-0, 10-0) scoreless in the first half.
The Penguins scored first on an own goal by Rogue when a crossed pass in front of the goal touched off of an Osprey player and rolled in.
A free kick on a foul in the 76th minute capped the scoring.
Rogue goalie Alcyea Jones earned 13 saves.
The Ospreys are in third place in the NWAC Southern Division standings behind Clark and Lane Community College. They play their regular-season finale Saturday against Southwestern Community College (5-8-0, 4-5-0) at 1 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Community Park.
CLARK 9, ROGUE CC 2: At Vancouver, Washington, Rogue (6-8-1, 4-7-1 NWAC) allowed seven first-half goals in the rout by Clark (8-6-2, 8-3-1).
Kallen Rechberg scored in the 23rd minute to put the Ospreys on the board.
After halftime, Brandon Sauceda tallied his 15th goal of the season in the 55th minute. Osprey goalkeeper Derian Saldana recorded nine saves.
The Ospreys host Southwestern Community College (0-14-1, 0-11-0) at 3 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Cellular.
