Cascade Christian's Carson Cochran was first-team all-state in Class 3A boys basketball, and teammate Joel McLemore made the second team in voting by the coaches.

Cochran was among the leading vote-getters, behind only player of the year Zach Bernards of Dayton.

The Challengers' 6-foot-4 senior post was expected to lead Cascade Christian at the state tournament, but he underwent an appendectomy on the morning the tournament began. The Challengers placed fifth to wrap up a 24-6 season.

Cochran averaged 17.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. He shot 61 percent from the field.

McLemore, a junior wing, averaged 13.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Dayton's Ron Hop was chosen coach of the year.
