FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Berry Hunt had three RBIs and three runs to lead the Medford Mustangs to an 8-3 win over the Merced (Calif.) Volunteers Friday in the WABF Tournament.

The victory was the Mustangs’ second in as many days. They complete pool play today with games against Napa Valley and Yolo.

The top two teams in the pool advance to the semifinals Sunday. The bottom two finish the tournament with placement games Sunday. The championship is Monday.

Hunt was 2-for-3, rapping a run-scoring triple in the second inning and a two-run single in the fourth.

James Turnbull had a two-run single in the sixth for Medford (17-5-1).

Jacob Melton was 3-for-3 with three runs.

Pitcher Wyatt Baptiste (3-0) got the win. He pitched six innings, allowed four hits, struck out four and walked three. Two of the three runs he allowed were earned.
