Alex Isola hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning as the Medford Rogues beat the Marysville Gold Sox, 6-2, during Great West League play at Harry & David Field on Thursday.

He finished 2-for-4 for Medford (20-8), which fell behind 2-0 in the first inning before taking the lead in the fifth.

Cole Percival earned the victory after allowing two runs (both earned), six hits and a walk and striking out six in seven innings.

The triumph sealed a three-game sweep against Marysville (9-18).

MEDFORD MUSTANGS 8, MENDOCINO 3: At Fairfield, Calif., James Turnbull helped lead the charge for Medford by going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and Cole Carder was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored as the Mustangs won on the opening day of the W.A.B.F. Tournament at Yarborough Field.

Berry Hunt earned the pitching victory, with Ethan Whitney closing the door with a scoreless seventh inning for the Mustangs (16-5-1). Kellar Edwards also went 3-for-4 in a balanced effort by Medford, which next plays Merced at 4:30 p.m. today.

American Legion A

NORTH MEDFORD MAVERICKS 12-15, PHOENIX BUCS 1-3: At Talent, Jon-o Gassman tossed a two-hitter and was backed with plenty of offense in the opener as North Medford swept Phoenix at Hagler-James Field.

Gassman allowed one unearned run, struck out three and walked two to jump to 3-0 on the mound. Zack Collins went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Mavericks (14-4).

In Game 2, after Brandon King hit a second-inning triple, he stole home plate to give the Mavericks a 7-2 lead. King finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored.

North Medford’s Trevor Corallo went 3-for-3, scored twice and drove in a run while Josh Robbins and Jeremiah Huffman scored three runs apiece. Robbins added a pair of RBIs and and Huffman knocked in one.
