Brennan Watts went 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored as the Medford Mustangs beat Lower Columbia Pacific Tech, 5-1, during nonleague action at Harry & David Field on Wednesday.
Ryan Lorenz finished 2-for-4 with two runs and James Turnbull 2-for-4 with an RBI and run for Medford (26-7-1), which tallied 10 hits.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Watts hit an RBI single and Turnbull came home on a balk to put the Mustangs ahead, 3-0.
Medford, which has won seven straight, begins a key road outing at Eugene for an Area 4 doubleheader at 5 p.m. Friday.

CENTRAL POINT 4-17, PHOENIX 3-0: At Central Point, Central Point’s Caleb Lawrence pitched a no-hit shutout in Game 2 as the Comets swept the Area 4 South doubleheader.
In Central Point’s 17-0, five-inning victory, Lawrence recorded five strikeouts with two walks.
Larson Kindreich was 4-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, Ike Gilliland 3-for-4 with two RBIs and four runs and Ethan Scott 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs for the Comets (16-8, 14-4 Area 4).
In the opener, Blake Hollingsworth went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and the walk-off bases-loaded single and Gilliland was 2-for-3 with two runs.
AJ Stanfield finished 2-for-2 and Kevin Botermans 2-for-4 for Phoenix.

SOUTH MEDFORD 11-14, ASHLAND 0-2: At Ashland, Chase Hinton went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs and Chris Bock hit a triple to help South Medford beat Ashland in Game 2 and complete an Area 4 South sweep.
In the second game, South Medford scored 10 runs on four hits and five walks in the second inning and clinched the game in five innings by the 10-run mercy rule. The early explosion included a two-run single by Daniel Shenk.
Ke’ali Benson had an RBI single for Ashland, which remained winless at 0-16.
In the opener, Steven Ledendecker had a triple and an RBI for the Colts, and Payton Owens was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Ledendecker also blanked Ashland on two hits, striking out seven in the six-inning game.
For Ashland, Rowan Amman was 1-for-2.
