MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Marysville scored two runs in the first and sixth innings and defeated Medford, 4-3, in Great West League baseball Monday at Colusa Casino Stadium.

All of the Rogues’ runs came in the second inning, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Medford from dropping to 29-13. The league leader maintained its 1½ -game lead over Lincoln, which lost to Portland, 6-4.

Johnny DeLaCruz singled and scored on an error to get the Rogues on the board in the second. Eric Yang and Dante Gutierrez later scored on bases-loaded walks.

Yang and Scotty Wright were each 2-for-3 for Medford. Wright and Davis Delorefice had RBIs.

Chris Painter (5-1) suffered his first loss, pitching one inning of relief. He allowed two hits and two runs, neither of which was earned.

The teams resume the series tonight.
