ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — Ashley vonTillow ended a scoreless stalemate in the 87th minute to give Sonoma State (Calif.) a 1-0 victory over Southern Oregon on Monday afternoon at Seawolf Soccer Field.

The Seawolves (5-0), who are the 18th-ranked team at the NCAA Division II level, have only conceded two goals through five games and had advantages of 23-4 in shots and 8-1 in shots on goal. They didn't break through, though, until Holle Depina's header hit the post and vonTillow followed up with the rebound and short shot.

The Raiders will bring a 3-3 record into the opening weekend of Cascade Conference play, Friday at Rocky Mountain (Mont.) and Sunday at The College of Idaho.

All six of their non-conference losses the last two seasons came against NCAA Div. II schools.

Keeper Hannah Ceciliani kept them in the game with seven saves. Mia Volpatti recorded SOU's only shot on goal, but it was saved by Kristen Spear.

The matchup was the first ever between the teams.
