BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Noah Willoughby tallied two third-period goals but it was Joel Holmberg’s overtime goal that rallied the Southern Oregon Spartans from a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 victory over the Bellingham Blazers in Western States Hockey League action Friday at Bellingham Sportsplex.

Holmberg’s goal that broke a 2-all stalemate gave the Spartans just their second victory of the season while Bellingham dropped to 3-8. The second game of a three-game series is at 7:35 tonight.

Jakub Mecir and Ty-Andrew Traynor registered two assists apiece and Willoughby added one for Southern Oregon (2-11), which got 31 saves by goaltender Krystof Holub.
