ASHLAND — Ben DeSaulnier poured in 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Josh Washington had career highs of 19 points and nine rebounds off the bench as No. 13 Southern Oregon pulled away for an 84-71 defeat of Eastern Oregon on Saturday night at Mountain Avenue Gym.

Tate Hoffman added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Raiders (6-3) in the Cascade Conference opener for both teams.

Blake O'Donnell went 8-of-14 with 18 points to lead five players in double figures for the Mounties (8-1).

Women's Basketball

EASTERN OREGON 81, SOU 68: At Ashland, Maya Ah You-Dias logged a triple-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists, Maren Herrud scored 26 on 11 of 15 shooting off the bench and No. 7 Eastern Oregon led by as many as 28 points against No. 12 Southern Oregon.

In the Cascade Collegiate Conference opener for both teams, the Mountaineers improved to 7-2 overall and the Raiders dropped to 7-1.

The result snapped SOU's 31-game home winning streak in CCC regular-season games. Through the first three quarters, the Raiders shot 12-of-56 from the field.
