STANFORD, Calif. — Reid Travis scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in helping Stanford beat Oregon State 80-71 on Thursday night.

Dorian Pickens added 15 points for the Cardinal (12-11, 6-4 Pac-12), who ended a three-game losing streak. Daejon Davis added 11 points and seven assists.

Drew Eubanks scored 19 points to lead the Beavers (11-10, 3-6 Pac-12), who lost their third straight and five of six overall. Tres Tinkle added 18 and both Stephen Thompson Jr. and Ethan Thompson scored 10.

Eubanks converted a three-point play in the final eight minutes to pull Oregon State within six points at 64-58, but that was as close as the Beavers got.

Travis scored nine points in the first three minutes and Stanford scored the first 12 points of the game. He made 10 of his first 12 shots.

Isaac White it a layup with 9:27 remaining in the first half to give the Cardinal their largest lead at 27-7.

Thompson, Jr. hit a 3-pointer three minutes later to pull the Beavers within 30-18, though Stanford held a double-digit advantage most of the game.

Davis hit a jumper in the final minute to give the Cardinal a 43-28 halftime lead.

BIG PICTURE

Oregon State: Tres Tinkle, whose older sister Joslyn was a star basketball player at Stanford, is the only player in the Pac-12 Conference to reach double figures in scoring in every game. He entered play Thursday ranked seventh in the Pac-12 with a 17.9 average. He's also fourth in free throw percentage (.874), ninth in rebounding (7.3) ad eighth in steals (1.4). ... The Beavers lead the conference in scoring defense, allowing an average of 68.6 points. They have allowed more than 75 points three times; interestingly enough, the other two were in wins and within the first three games of the season.

Stanford: The Cardinal avoided matching their longest losing streak of the season and won for the first time since their five-game winning streak. ... Stanford has three home games remaining out of eight. The Cardinal are 10-4 at home and 2-7 away from Maples Pavilion. ... Junior guard Marcus Sheffield, who has not appeared in a regular-season game due to a foot injury, will apply for a medical redshirt.
