Joel Holmberg tallied two goals in the first period as the Southern Oregon Spartans pounced on Seattle with three goals in the frame en route to a 5-3 Western States Hockey League victory on Friday at The RRRink.

The Totems’ Bogdan Klochkov answered with two second-period goals to make it 3-2, but the Spartans’ Derek Walker and Hayden Moistner each scored to hold the Totems (10-22-5 WSHL) at bay. Matej Valicek also scored for the Spartans.

Axel Low dished out three assists and Yanneck Kumli added two for the Spartans (10-28-1), who outshot the Totems, 34-23.
