CORVALLIS — Michael Gretler went 3-for-5, Andy Armstrong drove in two runs and Dylan Pearce picked up his first career victory as the Oregon State baseball team defeated Cal State Fullerton, 6-4, Saturday afternoon in front of 3,608 fans at Goss Stadium.

The two-run victory evens the series between the teams with a Sunday contest to close out the series.

Four different Beavers finished with two hits en route to 13 as a team. Adley Rutschman, Jack Anderson, Zak Taylor and Andy Armstrong all tallied two.

It was Armstrong who got the game's scoring started via a two-run double in the second. Cadyn Grenier then made it 3-0 when he reached on a fielder's choice.

Taylor pushed the lead to four with a single in the fifth but Cal State Fullerton tied the game and chased Oregon State (14-1) starter Bryce Fehmel with a four-run sixth inning.

Gretler put the Beavers ahead for good via a single and a throwing error in the bottom of the sixth, then watched as Anderson singled in the Beavers' sixth run of the game.

Pearce came on in relief of Fehmel in the sixth and ended the afternoon with two scoreless innings. He struck out one and improved to 1-0 on year. Jake Mulholland, meanwhile, allowed two hits in 1 1/3 innings but struck out one and held the Titans (4-9) scoreless for his fifth save of the year.

Fehmel allowed six hits and four runs in 5 2/3 innings. His counterpart, Andrew Quezada, scattered eight hits and four runs in 4 2/3 innings. The loss went to reliever Tanner Bibee, who gave up five hits and two runs in three innings.

OREGON 4, UC DAVIS 1: At Eugene, Oregon won its fourth straight during nonleague play.

Winning pitcher James Acuna (2-0) allowed one run (earned), two hits and one walk with one strikeout in seven innings.

Kyle Kasser, who was 2-for-3, drove in Ryne Nelson and tied the game at 1 with his RBI single in the third inning. Later that inning, Jonny DeLuca's RBI flyout put the Ducks (10-3) ahead for good.
