Lyle and Lyla Heigl of Phoenix celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 12 with a trip to Gold Beach and a weekend at Ireland's Rustic Lodge.

The couple married in 1957 in Las Vegas. They were accompanied by Lyle's parents and honeymooned at Hoover Dam.

After leaving the Navy, Lyle moved to California were he met Lyla through his cousin.

He is now involved with Fly-By Night Aviation out of Medford.

Lyla worked for the Phoenix-Talent School District for 17 years. She was employed with them as an aide, substitute and as a teacher. They have three children. Their oldest son, Jeffrey, lives in Vacaville, Calif., with his family. Their daughter, Sherryl, lives in Bakersfield, Calif., where she and her husband own a small corporation. The youngest son, John, lives in Medford, where he is self-employed.
