She was employed by Manns department store and later worked for Fluher's Bakery as a bookkeeper.
They met in 1959 and Gerald Moore married Janet Ward on Dec. 4, 1960.
In 1961, they moved to Corvallis, where Gerald attended Oregon State University. Upon graduation, they moved to Bellevue, Wash., where he worked as an electronic engineer for Boeing for 18 years. Janet earned a degree in counseling in 1983 and also taught image-improvement classes.
They then moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., where Gerald worked for Sperry/Honeywell as an engineering manager for 23 years before retiring. Janet opened a ladies and children's boutique, which she owned for 15 years before she retired.
In 2005, they returned to Medford to be closer to family. They especially enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren and traveling in their motor home.
