Richard and Ramona Lehnert of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Rogue River Lodge. The dinner was a gift from their children, Michael Lehnert of Oregon City and Cheryl Thompson of Medford. They will hold a reception for the whole family at a later date.
Richard Lehnert married Ramona L. Grubbs on March 18, 1961, in Eagle Point.
Ramona came to Medford in 1950 from Idaho. She graduated from Crater High School in Central Point in 1956.
Richard grew up in Falls City, Ore., and graduated in 1955 from Moses Lake High School in Moses Lake, Wash. He came to the valley in 1959 after leaving the Navy.
Richard worked for Olson-Lawyer and then Boise Cascade sawmill in White City until October 1999.
Ramona stayed home with the children for 16 years, then worked for Medford School District, the Jackson County Assessor's Office, and the Election Board for nine years.
They both retired in October 1999. They have lived in their present home for 46 years.
They enjoy travel and have made four trips to Alaska, two trips to Illinois and spent three winters in Arizona.
The Lehnerts have a third child, Deborah Beck of Chico, Calif. They also have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
