Dr. Mario and Edie Campagna of Medford will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner given by their children June 9, 2012, in Portland. Twenty-one people plan to attend the reception.

Edie Cutone married Mario Campagna June 7, 1952, in Portland. They have four children: Paul Campagna and daughter-in-law Denise Campagna of Hermiston; Marla Campagna of Los Angeles; Robert Campagna and daughter-in-law Kitty Campagna of Silverdale, Wash.; and Patrick Campagna and daughter-in-law Leily Esteghlalian of Portland; and six granddaughters, Ceci Campagna, Carly Campagna, Michelle Campagna, Stephanie Campagna, Emily Campagna and Maral Esteghlalian.

Mario and Edie met in the early 1950s when they both were working at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Portland. They moved to Philadelphia for Mario's internship and then lived in Rochester, Maine, where Mario was a neurosurgeon at the Mayo Clinic for four years. In 1957, they moved to Medford, where "Dr. C" began his 40-year career as one of the most distinguished neurosurgeons in Oregon. Noted for his untiring work in a demanding specialty, Dr. C touched the lives of thousands.

In their retirement, they have traveled extensively and also focused on their passion for philanthropy. They strongly support many cultural, educational and medical activities in the Rogue Valley, including the Rogue Valley Symphony, Rogue Valley Choral, Britt Festivals, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Rogue Valley Medical Center and Providence Medford Medical Center.
