50th Anniversary: Paul and BJ Lewis
Paul and BJ Lewis celebrated their 50th anniversary Thursday, Oct. 10, and they recently celebrated their big day with a cruise to Mexico.
Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Paul and BJ decided to take off work at noon and drove to Reno to be married by a justice of the peace. The wedding was followed by a reception in Sacramento and honeymoon in Santa Cruz, California.
In 2000, Paul retired from his job with Union Pacific Railroad in Denver, Colorado, where he worked as a machinist and welder, and BJ was a graphic artist.
They sold their home in Colorado, loaded up everything they owned, and drove to their property in Eagle Point, which they have owned since 1987, and had camped on over the years.
Once they made the move to their forested property, the couple began building their cabin in the woods, a process that took over a year.
BJ continues as a fine artist, and her and Paul love to travel and enjoy the Oregon State Parks, and they love to cruise.
