Buell leads Ashland to eighth
MT. HOOD -- Melodie Buell's second-place finish in the girls combined helped Ashland High to an eighth-place finish at the Oregon State Skiing Championships Saturday at Timberline Ski Bowl.
Buell finished third in the Giant Slalom event on Saturday and fourth in Friday's slalom to end the two-day event with a combined time of 3:53.390.
In the boys combined event, the Grizzlies' Eric Harris skied to a fourth-place finish, while North Medford's Paul Caswell finished 12th.
Harris also finished fifth in the giant slalom on Friday.
The South Medford girls team finished sixth in the combined standings and fourth in the slalom team standings thanks in part to Tara Norris' 11th and Jessica Webber's 14th place finish on Friday.
Team and individual titlists were crowned in each event.
