Raiders rebuff Owls in Cascade volleyball

KLAMATH FALLS -- Southern Oregon received a scare from Oregon Tech Wednesday, but not nearly enough to halt the powerful Raiders as they won the tough Cascade Conference matchup in four games at Danny Miles Court.

Paced by Susan Rodinsky and Erin Lytle, the Raiders edged Oregon Tech 10-15, 15-11, 15-5, 17-15 to improve their record to 12-3 overall and 6-1 in conference.

Rodinsky posted a game-high 18 kills for Southern Oregon, while Lytle added 56 assists.

Southern Oregon took advantage of the fact that Oregon Tech only had seven players participating in the match, breaking open a close match with a dominating effort in the third game and a composed effort in the fourth and final game.

Kristina Wurtz paced Southern Oregon with 17 digs, while Nola Miller added three blocks for the Raiders.

Southern Oregon will next take to the court Saturday at — p.m. when the Raiders play host to Eastern Oregon in McNeal Pavilion.
