Roseburg rally sinks the Grizz

ROSEBURG -- Eighth-ranked Roseburg had trouble with Ashland in the first game, but bounced back to dominate the Grizzlies in games two and three for a 12-15, 15-3, 15-6 Southern Oregon Conference volleyball victory on Tuesday.

Roseburg remains unbeaten at 7-0 in conference play, while Ashland slipped to third place (5-2) in the conference, behind North Medford (6-1).

The Grizzlies came out strong in the first game, keyed by seven kills from Rachel Fish.

The Indians cooled off Ashland in the next two games, as Allison Courter racked up 11 kills in games two and three.

Fish added only one more kill on the night for the Grizzlies, bringing her total to eight for the match.

KLAMATH UNION 13-15-15, EAGLE POINT 15-13-8, -- At Eagle Point, senior setter Cindy Josephson had three aces and 11 digs, but Eagle Point could not hold on against Klamath Union.

The Eagles gave away an eight-point advantage in the second game.

Junior blocker Misty Bernhardt had five kills and two solo blocks in a losing effort. Senior hitter Meagan Smith led the Eagles with 12 digs. With the loss, Eagle Point fell to 0-7 in the SOC.

GRANTS PASS 15-13-15, CRATER 10-15-10, -- At Central Point, Rhonda Lamson had 42 assists and senior hitter Jamie Caster 10 kills for Crater, which fell to 3-4 in the SOC.
